Zakes Bantwini prepares to bring Sikelela Festival to life, following Abantu Festival, on 27th of April 2024.

In an attempt to maintain his focus on other aspects of music, Zakes Bantwini prepares to bring the Sikelela Festival to life on the 27th of April 2024.

Last year, Zakes Bantwini dwelled more and emphasized on why he has taken a decision to depart from his performance journey as he continues to maintain his focus on other aspects of music. ““This is my last album. I am now moving into the business of music, meaning that I am not here to just do music and releasing albums, but working on new projects with amazing talents. This album will mark the end of all my contractual obligations with my current music label, Universal Music.” Said the producer and DJ at his press conference at DHL Stadium in Cape Town last year.

With Sikelela Fest, Zakes Bantwini bleeds to create an atmosphere that unites music lovers from all walks of life while it pushes them to delve into a ‘Freedom Day’ state of mind as it runs under the theme of Freedom Day.

At the end of February, Zakes Bantwini revealed a line up that compliments local talent including Scorpion Kings, Mi Casa, Young Stunna and Sizwe Alakine to name a few. The festival is scheduled to take place at Constitution Hill in JHB.
