DJ Tira & Heavy K drive us into a ‘Soweto Uprising’ state of mind in the recently dropped ‘Inkululeko’ single

 

Mr ‘Makoya Bearings’ better known as DJ Tira, has collaborated with Heavy K to drive us into a‘Soweto Uprising’ state of mind in their newly released collaborative single titled ‘Inkululeko’.The single features prominent acts in the music industry such as Zee Nxumalo, Makhadzi & Afro Brothers.


The artcover speaks very well with the theme of the song as it vividly depicts the events of 1971 Soweto Uprising. On the artcover Zee Nxumalo is being potrayed as Hector Peterson, while DJ Tira is Mabuyiso Makhubo. The cover brings to life the famous historical photo taken by the World renowned photographer, Sam Nzima.



In this 3 Step inspired single, DJ Tira, Makhadzi & Zee Nxumalo fight for their freedom and plead with those who remain subjected to injustices of the system to fight for themselves in pursuit for black joint progression. The trio advocates for a society that acts on the cries of it’s people and urges them to rise above their misfortunes while Heavy K & Afro Brothers support the trio's vision with their production ability.
