On: Not A She
This morning, I woke up and had no content to publish on Music & Life so I decided to open my Instagram account to found something that will perhaps push me to write an article on Music & Life website while it turns out that I honestly follow Not A She on Instagram, therefore, I decide to do a research on her journey as a DJ because the name sounded familiar. It’s not the first time I come across the name of Not A She because I still remember when Miss Shelly roared her name on my Facebook post, where I wished to show an appreciation to Female DJs since it was the month of August ( I think I mentioned her name on one of Music & Life articles while I was placing an emphasis on what transpires in Cape Town at large at that time). While I was doing a social research on her journey as a DJ, I have come to realize that she’s an integral part of Cape Town Female DJs circle because she’s a prolific DJ that has worked and displayed the greatness of her craft in various places, prolific places at that, in Cape Town, I mean she is set to display an unforgettable set at the Savanna Stage, Rocking The Daisies in Cape Town on 17- 19 November and that’s what impresses me the most because from what I am getting from her posts and statements is that she is consistent with her work while she is not even preaching about that, publicly. What impresses me about her craft is how photogenic she is and can delve into various elements that compose the state of art in various forms, while she holds a ground that sports the greatness and love of her craft because she’s Bridges For Music Alumni. She too has the kind of energy that transcends spheres as she delves into the matters of visual artists. Without a doubt, for future activations, I will invite her and have an interview with her as I bleed to touch base on her journey as DJ and visual artist that stretches the love that one might have.
