There's no Stopping Mr Thela
It’s hard to keep up with Mr Thela’s media run lately as he consistently holds a mirror for Capetonians, specifically Cape Town Gqom Producers and DJs, to strive in pursuit for the betterment of their careers as DJs. The DJ and Producer, whose real name is Simphiwe Sihawu, is an inspiration to many and is on form with his winning streak while he parades a sound that sees you itching for a dance floor and graduates you with music lovers from all walks of life.
2023 without a doubt saw him and still see him contributing to taking the Gqom Sound to the greater heights, while he continues to make an appearance in various news publications as his brand made a meaningful and very musical-introspective appearance on IOL, Daily Maverick, Daily Voice, KFM news, 947 Joburg and Zkhiphani to name a few. The appearances he made on various news publications were a build up to his 2 week tour in UK, which saw him giving us a taste of what to expect this summer and dwelled more on what transpires in his winning streak as he partnered with renowned brand, Skyy Vodka to deliver ‘Mr Thela Live In London’ of which was in pursuit in to generate support and support for the second installment of Tronics Island Series, which is scheduled for 17th November 2023. Mr Thela continues to sport agressive sounds while he tends to unites with different creatives from other sounds as he recently joined forces with Njelic to work on their upcoming collaborative single, which is expected to form part of Tronics Land Series 2 and has become an internet sensation without the official release. Mr Thela recently formed part of Abantu Gala Dinner, which is a build up to the most promising to be a world class festival, Abantu Festival, scheduled to take place at DHL Stadium in Cape Town this weekend.
With all that being said, It is clear that there’s no stopping Mr Thela as he continues to elevate and contribute to taking the Gqom Sound to greater heights.
